Better Comfort By Sustainable Means

EMBELTON VIBRATION ISOLATORS

GP Embelton and Co was founded in 1925, and publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchgane in 1957. Embelton is world leader in the design and provision of engineered solutions for Mechanical Equipment Vibration Isolators. Vibration and noise generated by Mechanical Equipment needs to be isolated at the source to prevent it transmitting through the building and causing discomfort of occupants. Embelton offers range of carefully engineered and tested air, spring, rubber and pad mounts for effective isolation of machinery in buildings.

Rubber Mounts

Rubber mounts are an efficient, low cost option, offering a reasonable degree of isolation efficiency. Rubber mountings come in single or double deflection and are effective isolators in standard non-critical applications. For more critical applications, considerations should be given to using spring or air mounts.

Spring Mounts

Compared to rubber mounts, spring mountings have increased static deflection resulting in greater isolation efficiency. This makes them more suitable for critical applications, or for mechanical equipment which have low disturbing frequencies. Spring mounts come in a range of deflections and maximum oads, so that the level of isolation can be accurately selected for each application.

Waffle Pads

Pad mounts are a low cost isolator, effective for machinery and equipment with higher disturbing frequencies such as small air conditioners, business machines, machines tools, etc. Pad Mounts are also an effective isolator of shock.

Shearflex, Supershearflex and Corkrib are the standard Embelton pad mounts, offering static deflection up to 3.5 mm. Multiple pad layers, interleaved with metal plates, can be used to offer higher static deflection. All pad mounts can be bonded to flexplates where load spreading is required, or where the machine base is provided with leveling screws. Corkrib has a flatback option when it must be bonded on one side to a flat surface. Corkrib also offers good damping properties.

Air Mounts

Air mounts, made from ow permeability rubber, offer the highest isolation efficiency, and are used in the most critical applications, such as hospitals, research laboratories, and music auditoriums. They are less versatile than spring or rubber mounts as they require access for periodic maintenance, but use comparatively less space. To achieve the same isolation efficiency as an air mount, a 250 mm deflection spring would be required.

Embelton air mounts can be inflated to varying levels to achieve the required isolation efficiency, offering more flexibility than other types of mountings.

Isolation Hangers

Typically used for suspended piping and ductwork running from mechanical equipment to prevent vibration transmitting to the surrounding structure. Embelton offers a wide range of isolation hangers, usually housed in cages and encompassing rubber spring and rubber/spring combination hangers.

Seismic Mounts

Integrated seismic mounts for mechanical equipment are designed to combine spring mount vibration isolation with multi-directional flexible restraint to limit equipment movement under seismic disturbance.

Embelton offers a wide range of seismic spring mounts for a full range of applications, as well as a rubber seismic mount, and independent seismic restraints. Also available are cable restraints, which are used in conjunction with spring or rubber hangers for the seismic restraint of suspended piping and equipment.
